I recently saw something about the Miss America/Miss California's response to a question about gay marriage. I guess Vermont has become the 4th state in the union to legalize same sex marriage. The question was posed to miss California and her response was from her heart and it was her opinion. Of course the answer to that question was not the answer that was wanted. She stood up for her beliefs in a marriage between one man and one woman. I happen to believe this way......do I hate lesbians and homosexuals, absolutely not. I believe that marriage should be protected and it should be between a man and a woman, this has occurred since the dawn of time and it is a God given right for myself to marry a woman and for a woman to marry a man. I do not want the gay agenda shoved down my throat or my wife's throat and especially down my daughter's throat, she is so innocent and soon that innocence will be ripped from her but as long as I have breath in my body it will not be anytime soon. I am tired of Christians being ripped a new one for believing what they believe. That is why we live in America, is to have that freedom, which by the way, is being taken away. Why is it that any Tom, Dick and Harry can have their say and get away with it, but you let a Christian say what they believe.......whoa get back, hate crime.......but obviously Jesus did say that you will be hated because of Me, and he was right of course. Let them hate me with all of their might.........Let them Kill me if they wish........I must fear only the One who can destroy both my body and soul in hell.......I am rambling. That is my Soapbox for today.
I know the world don't care about this but remember God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve........................

This is a Little bit of a Pricey Hobby........

I am a collector, tried and true and I collect many things. Anything from Pez dispensers, Old Vintage plastic masks with the vinyl costumes, and action figures, and comic books, I know I am a nerd, when my brother and I were little we played with Masters of the Universe figures and when we played with them, we actually played with them, HARD. I remember twisting the legs until they snapped, twist the heads off, chew on the little weapons that they carried and regretting it ever since but we were kids and kids played with toys, they didn't collect them. I am now a 32 year old kid, who collects those old toys from my childhood. My favorite collector's items are now my He-Man figures which I have collected over the years. I have 12 of them now and it is a little bit of a pricey hobby, I have never spent less than 30 bucks for a figure, thats why I don't have very many of them. I remember taking one of my brother's figures to school and throwing it off of the slide at recess and of course it broke. When I got home my brother had taken one of mine and twisted the legs off of it, Good times.....Good times......

On a Serious note.......
It's midnight, I usually stay up until midnight just for the simple fact that I can. A lot can go through your mind at that hour of the night and as I sit here, eyes watering from being tired, I thought about my life and where it is right now, mostly about family. I rarely see any of my mom's side of the family, i.e. aunts, cousins, uncles and the like and I am sad about that. I am starting to lose my dad also, not physically mind you, but just he has his own life. I am thankful for Lisa and Shannon, they are my family but sometimes you just miss people. My Mom is gone, My brother is in Tennessee and My dad, well, like I said he has his own life, maybe I am just rambling. Sometimes you feel alone, even though there are people around you on all sides. I really am missing mom right now.......... these are just thoughts or the ramblings of a 32 year old man who seems lost in the big, wide scheme of things....

Neil Gaiman's Coraline

This weekend I got the chance to see Coraline, a movie based upon a short horror novella by writer Neil Gaiman. Every time the commercial would come on for this movie my daughter would always say that she wanted to see it so this weekend my wife and I and my daughter went to see it. I liked this movie a lot because of the fact that it had a little bit of the horror element in it as well as dummying down for the kiddies. Still though there was some frightening images in it, not to give away details but Coraline is about a little girl who is not very happy with her home life and when her parents decide to move to a new apartment she finds another world which has everything she wants, but it comes at a price, and this price is pretty disturbing for a "kiddie" movie. I mean who wants to have buttons sewn where their eyes used to be, ewwwwww!! I enjoyed the movie but, of course, I would because I am so morbid.
Any who, I think my daughter enjoyed it because I haven't heard about any nightmares or anything. My wife on the other hand..............

House by Ted Dekker and Frank Perreti
I am a little wary about movies with Christian themes because of the fact that usually these types of movies are made to look very cheesy and that makes me not so much a fan of them as say a secular movie with a little more high budget power and big name power. Not to say that they don't have any kind of meaning or significance behind them because they most certainly do. I just watched a little horror movie called House which is based on the book by Ted Dekker and Frank Perreti. I am not to familiar with Ted Dekker but Frank Perreti is a Christian author. This movie however did not seem like your run of the mill Christian themed movies, it was a spectacular, creepy and over the top horror film, no sex, no cussing, and that goes to show you that all of that garbage doesn't need to be in films anyway. Granted it didn't make any money at the box office, In fact I didn't even see it in the theaters to begin with. It was still a classy little flick that had awesome special effects and the acting was by no means cheesy, very stylish and very hip and the premise was fairly original and there was definitely Christian themes and tie ins to this movie, I am not going to give you any plot details you will have to see it for yourself. I have included a trailer for this movie in which, i might add, gets ten out of ten stars!!!!!!!

Amusement ......Not Very Amusing....

The premise of this movie has been done to death. The premise is about three girls that have something in common with this boy that they went to elementary school with, and guess what the boy is a psycho. For some reason the boy has some kind of vendetta against the three girls, via some kind of traumatizing event that happened when they were little. The traumatizing event is when they all were little one of the girls said they didn't like the boy's school project, she thought it wasn't "funny" as he wanted it to be. It was a shoe box with a mouse in it that was cut open like an autopsy, I would generally think this was funny, but for some reason the girl didn't, call me cooky. And so the vendetta starts when they are all older and blah blah blah........
There were some cool elements to the movie, I like a scary movie that involves clowns and the killer wears this clown suit and mask that is pretty scary, there were no jumps or shivers up and down my spine or anything like that. It was your typical hum drum horror flick, where the lady in distress gets her man in the end.
One more thing to add, the killer was supposed to have some sort of scary laugh but it wasn't Oscar worthy or anything. At least the hotel where the killer lived was creepy. I really expected more from this but didn't get it. I came from this experience feeling cheap and dirty.
Out of ten stars, I give it a 6.
